And here you have the number one question that people ask me: "How the hell did you get so many people to view your art? You're not even that good!" I can't do anything other than honestly admitting that I'm not that good at art. I'm not some awesomely skilled concept artist, at least. I've seen many people do a better job while receiving a lot less of attention. Why a medium like DeviantArt works for me? Probably because I've been around on the internet for so long, and I've spend so much time working for internet-marketing company's, that things like advertising and web usability have become a second nature to me. My Bio

Hey, I'm Cory, and years ago, I was obsessed with art. I used to enter my art in contests, and have won awards in graphite, painting, mixed media and sculpting. That being said, I honestly think I gave up on it before I ever fully realized my potential; I feel like I could've been much better than I was if I applied myself.

Fast forward about a decade, and here we are. For a good number of years, I completely abandoned art. Now, I have decided to fully apply myself, and I'm majoring in Art Education. It's time to get back on the proverbial horse, and I know I have a long way to go. I don't feel like my art is as good as it once was, but with total dedication and commitment, I know I can grow to be better than I ever dreamed.

Pictures of Art

Ok, so I look around dA, and I see people's artwork look amazing in the sense of presentation. When I post pictures of my work, you can tell it's a picture. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make them look better? As an example, the top picture of my favorites list 'Starry Night', doesn't look like a scan or a picture. I need help making my posts look higher quality. Any help?

Haven't been able to sleep lately. Up all night, then awake early in the morning. Sometimes I feel like that's when I do my best work, but its counter-productive to the rest of my life. Anyone else have this problem?

Man, I look at a lot of the artists' work on here, and it's a dual edged sword. I get both inspired and disheartened. There's an incredible amount of talent to be seen, and I know I'm nowhere near the level some of these guys are. That's disheartening, but also, it inspires me to learn more and get better. Hopefully, in my journey as an art student, you will see my growth and improvement, and maybe, one day, I can be in the same consideration as my inspirations on here. Keep up the good work guys!
